It's a pleasure to be the counselor of IEEE MEA SB and to have the opportunity to guide and serve our student branch and its members also serving the society throughout this constantly developing, ever-growing, and dynamical technological era. Our innovative young minds need to be ignited and fostered effectively to be fit for living in this modern automated world. The concept ‘When the world change, we change’ needs to be altered to ‘World is changing, we are the changers’.I strongly believe that an organization like IEEE is surely capable of that. Being the counselor for one of its student branches makes me proud and happy for this very same reason.
IEEE MEA SB has always been one of the most active and successful SB at both regional and international levels. Through the variety of events we organized in the past few years we have already made a space for ourselves among others. We have a good number of brilliant students who have already made us proud through their achievements in different fields at regional and international levels. I sincerely hope we could continue our quest in this tangled yet promising path and contribute our best to the world with the help of Almighty. All the very best wishes.
It's a great honour to be the chairperson of IEEE MEA SB, a great opportunity to lead, guide and volunteer from the front to meet new heights. Advancing technology for humanity it's our ultimate goal to which we volunteer to our best in all possible ways. In this rapidly changing technological era, you need to be fuelled with the information and network which helps you to grow, keeping it as the focal point will look into all possible points. The opportunities to grow yourself with this growing world is the prime priority. With the whole efforts of the team, we will succeed in meeting up our mission and vision.
IEEE MEA SB has always been committed to creating an ambience for nurturing innovation, creativity and excellence in our students by completely following the motto, "Advancing Technology for Humanity". We aim to prepare the young engineers to confidently and competently face the challenges of intensifying competitions by imparting high quality technical and managerial programs coupled with appropriate training and wide exposure to our volunteers. Meanwhile focusing on the all-around personality development of our volunteers and inculcating human values and professional ethics in them had also been one of our priorities. We always take efforts in documenting our works and setting an example to the future volunteers about how we had worked to make what they see today a reality. I sincerely hope we could continue our quest in this tangled yet promising path and contribute our best to the world with the help of Almighty.
Sometimes a late start can be a headstart. I became part of IEEE MEA SB during my final one and half years of college. As a first step, I got unexpectedly included in the technical team of the Xtrinia 2.0 event. From there it all began, as always said "the first impression is the best impression", working with this team and IEEE gave me great advancements in my technical ability and as well as communication. Later, I became the Technical Head during my final year which was one of my best experiences, and enjoyed achievement. It was like a complete change in my professional views and activities. I had got a bunch of personalities, those we can always keep in touch with them. I am also happy to see all the current members enjoying their college life as an IEEEian. Wishing all the peak of success for IEEE MEA SB and as well as for each pillar who holds this community well.
Being in charge of something had always worried me that what if I am not good enough or what should I do or what would people think of me and else. But IEEE MEA SB accepted me as who I was and nourished me to become the person that I am right now. They gave me the position of technical coordinator for the year 2018-2019. I am glad that I was a part of IEEE MEA SB which had a great role in my personal development. IEEE helped me to improve my communication skills and gave me the platform to express my thoughts and ideas to finding the skills within. IEEE is the place where I learned to manage programs and events very well. This priceless platform gave me so many more valuable memories and good relations. It was through this platform I began to express as well as expand my skill sets. IEEE MEA SB supported me in the most ways possible and turns out all my fears of insecurity were long gone and as a result, I was awarded as the best volunteer of the year. Looking back every memory ever made with the IEEE family is to be kept close to my heart. Wishing all the very best to my dear juniors and hoping for them to achieve their potential in the coming days.
I have joined IEEE MEA SB in 2018 as a student member. Then became a part of the executive committee as Membership Development Team in 2019. From my Experience I believe IEEE is Good platform for developing Professional and Personal skills and also makes a good network and Friend Circle inside and outside of the college to mold a better career and profession.
My journey with IEEE started when I was doing my M Tech at RIT kottayam. Those memorable experiences I gained during my M Tech days made me to be part of IEEE family at MEA Engineering College. As I had a fantastic experience with IEEE Industry Applications Society there at RIT, I thought of starting a chapter of IEEE IAS in MEAEC. With the grace of god we could start one and was one of the best in the globe grabbing many international awards. Many volunteers of our chapter were able to attend the annual meet of IEEE IAS held in USA. Later, I became the Counselor of IEEE student branch chapter and was very fortunate to work with such enthusiastic and vibrant volunteers. College management and authorities were also highly supportive in organizing the events. The first Malabar Hub Meet(Festeria), was organized in 2014 and in the same year student branch played its active role in the organization of first ever international conference by college(ICCCES’14). Later, under the leadership of different chairs, chapter organized and took part in many major events. The program Milen was the result of the thought, that members of our chapter should get chance to be trained and be able to explore themselves. First edition of Extrinia, flagship intercollege event of the SB chapter was held in 2019 and was a great success in terms of the number of participants and the quality of workshops and events arranged. It is a great honor that I was able to lead the chapter for a long duration of 5 years with lots of golden memories and achievements. It couldn’t be possible if I haven’t received that kind of support from a passionate group of volunteers. Each year I could see a new set of Exe-Com members with their brave soldiers coming forward to showcase something extra ordinary. Even in this pandemic situation, the chapter is doing excellent job by organizing online events with such professionalism. I hope that the chapter will be able do much more to the society in future and I wish the flag of MEA IEEE Student Branch Chapter fly high in the sky.
I am closely connected with MEA Engineering College since 2010 when they invited me to handle a membership development session. It was Dr. Suresh P, then HoD of ECE department of MEA Engineering College, who shown keen interest in the formation of SB. IEEE SB MEA is one among the very few newly formed SBs which could host a Kerala section level event (LINK Camp 2012) despite tight competition from other SBs. In the past decade, IEEE SB MEA contributed many leaders to IEEE, including 2 Malabar hub HSRs (2013 and 2014), LINK MDC (2015), Malabar subsection execom members, etc. The IAS SBC in MEA is a model SBC for the entire Kerala section in terms of providing international travel opportunities for the members. IEEE MEA SB is now one of the most vibrant SBs in the IEEE India Council.
